When people think about technology they think about new inventions. Technology is a new way of making people want more than what they already have; they have made technology come to a point that humans are not able to function without it. Technology has also made a huge impact on people’s lives in the modern world through means of machines that are being used in the medical field. Medical technologies are instruments that are used by not only doctors but also by people around the world. Machines that have been made have helped us to achieve things in the medical field as well as in other ways that are useful for people and their own personal use. The introduction of technology in the medical field has its positive effects more than having any negative effects. As technology has evolved, so has the positive use and effects for medical technology as well. Technology in the world today is advanced and it allows doctors to diagnose asses and treat health conditions in a less invading way, to develop many effective treatments and to basically improve and extend patients’ lives. Technology has made people’s lives easier today with the medical instruments because there machines such as wheelchairs, prosthetic limbs, contact lenses, stethoscopes and any other machine used to diagnose or to fix an ailment. Technology has been able to enhance the world individuals live in by giving hospitals and doctors more ways to figuring out to save a person’s life or what they have wrong with them. Technology has not only made a big impact in the world but also in lives of doctors by giving them more time to assist more people. The machines that the hospitals, doctors, and staff of the medical field are using are not only growing right now but in the future the world will have more advanced technology than what it is right now so that it affects our society in a positive manner. Medical machines are not only being used in hospitals but they are also being useful in Iraq where the wounded soldiers are kept. In the story Struggling Back from Wars Once-Deadly Wounds Denise Grady states how more soldiers are kept alive due to advanced machines they are given. †¦Advancements in medicine have allowed doctors to keep more wounded soldiers alive (‘seven to eight survivors for every death, compared with just two per death in World War II’). † (Grady 331) People never thought that advanced machinery in general would make a difference in the world today not only for people with minor diseases but also for wounded soldiers that are fighting to stay alive. With the new medical equipment machines, the doctors are capable of diagnosing, and are able to study the cure for the disease and the prevention from new ones from happening or spreading. This has a positive effect in the world today because it has not only changed people’s lives, but it has also become a new way towards finding out new possibilities in today’s society. When medicine started developing in the early 1800’s they started out simply with instruments such as thermometers, scales, and stethoscopes: which was a more of a manual work for them. Today in the world the medical field have the same technology except it is more digital and advanced by, having heart monitors, defibrillators, ultra sounds, MRI’s, CAT scanners, and more computerized technology. All medical equipment has its own reason of use for a specific thing wrong with an individual’s body. Also, before the machines used to be big and would only stay in one place and nowadays they are more portable to move around with ease. Computers are also being used in emergency rooms and doctor’s offices, they use these to monitor vital signs, check your health background, prescribe peoples prescriptions, bill a patient or even send them information of anything that the person would need. In the story of Diana Grady she explains how a veteran called Jason Poole was a soldier in the Army and was stationed in Iraq. He was servilely wounded by a side bomb in the war and was left with brain damage, a deformed face, and many unimaginable injuries. Jason was left with less confidence and felt less handsome because of his face and wounds. His face had to be rebuilt with corrective surgery because of all the dead and missing skin that had fell off from his face. If it was not for machines that the doctors and specialists had use for his face to be rebuilt piece by piece he would not even bare the pain to be alive today. With the surgeon doing corrective surgery Poole has become a new person within and out, he has had to learn how to read, say letter or phrases, and even learn how to walk all over again. Even Poole has noticed that machines have saved and will continue to recuperate and further his life in a positive matter. The newest technology in the medical field is robots being used in surgery. The reason why doctors, surgeons, and specialists now use robots is because they are a moving specialty in the medical world as it being said in the Article that Dr. David B. Samadi M. D. wrote. â€Å"†¦Robotic systems are electronic applications of robotics in the field of medical surgery globally. † Robotics has been incorporated into surgeries even if they need a surgeon proceeding and enabling the robot to perform the operations because they need supervision of specialists to run the surgery. This robot is used for many things but one main thing it is being used is for not having so many human beings in one operating room, so it is just the patient and the robot being monitored by the surgeon specialists. As the article â€Å"Advances in Medical Technology† said â€Å"Medical robots are used with increasing frequency in the medical field. Surgeons no longer operate on the basis of their skill and experience alone. † People today are living in a society that has them dependent on technology devices. This robot also helps the doctors less the risk of secondary infections to the patients and the doctors themselves; it also increases the chances for a full quick recovery. These robots have come into a huge help because the robot allows the surgeon to make a small incision as well instead of a big cut that allows the patient to stay a longer period of time in the hospital. Now that society has been changed with technology, it has not only changed for the good of persons but also for the medical field. These new machines will just continue to evolve more in the world for medical use in a positive matter. People just have to learn how to wisely use and sort technology in an effective way. Soon the world will just be robots itself doing the surgeries on patients and being able to have more at home devices for ill and non-ill patients. Technology will continue to grow to help people in the medical way so that we can have a better living, also help out those who are in need of a corrective surgery or another part of a body because they have been in an awful accident.
